Life Cycle Of A Seal

conclusion

pups death

To conclude, seals have a very difficult life cycle to live through. They have to learn as many abilities they can from there parents. Then this process repeats it's self over again.

glossary

Semi Aquatic: that thing can live on

land and in in water.

Pinnipeds: A group of animals that are fin footed

Phocidea: A family of animals that do not have ears

Pup: Baby seal

Killer Whale: A massive white and black mammal

Antarctica: A snowy place in the Artic biome

Pretetor: A thing that trys to attack you or hunt you

Not all pups survive, most of them actually die because of these reasons, the mother loses them, doesn't recongise them properly or when they go into the ocean with either one of there parents and Orcas come along and eat the pup because the Orca knows that the pup is not fast enough or strong enough to dodge them.

BREAST FEEDING

the pup seal is always helpless for a few

days, or even weeks. The pup always

relies on there mothers milk because it gives them strength to defend for themselves and they get 50 percent fat from there mothers milk. The pup stays with there parents for up to 7-12 months and then leave for most of their lives.

pupping

The female seals mark there own territory to give birth to there young one. The male seals are usually out getting food for himself and his lady. Sometimes the male seals are not there to see the birth of there pup because of this reason.

breeding

At the onset of the breeding season, the females become extremely aggressive towards the males. This reason is because the females would love to have there own pup.
