Patagonia's mission Statement: Build the best product, cause no unnecessary harm, use business to inspire and implement solutions to the environmental crisis.

Patagonia runs on a communal culture which means that the employees have a close bond and their lives really revolve around the product they produce. For example how they might be able to work longer hours due to their children being cared for during the day.

Patagonia is a company that relies on intrinsic motivation and motivate the employees to do the right thing as a way to be a part of something bigger. The company allows employees to have a close bond with their children so they accomplish the life of a parent and also be able to do the job they love

What does it mean to be a flat organization?

Patagonia's flat organization means there are not many oppertunities to move up however the employees are mostly all even so there isn't much of a need for moving up. "Team members are empowered to make the decisions they need to make after seeking the advice of peers and experts"(inc.com) The team members are very free to do as they choose as the owner expects them to make the right decisions
