My reading experience
assessment of the text
By the end of the book I had a better understanding of the strategies that Beane used to get the Oakland A's to the world series with one of the lowest payrolls in all of baseball. Beane gave players a second chance in their careers if they were overlooked by other teams.
I found it kind of surprising how easily I got connected with this book, with my past knowledge of baseball I was eager to learn more about the strategies that Beane used to find cheap players that made is team one of the best by spending the least amount of money.
Structure
The dominant structure of Lewis used was sequence it started out with Beane playing around with ideas to create the great strategy that he uses to find players.
This story is about the great Billy Beane and his quest to find great baseball players that are overlooked by other scouts and managers, The Oackland A'S had one of the lowest payrolls in the league but still found a way to win by using billy's methods to find great players that are overlooked. The system that Billy Beane used focused more on the statistics that players had instead of their athletic ability.
The central idea of of Lewis's book is to inform people that there is a systematic way to find players that are not always the most athletic but most big league ready.
I reread sections and parts that i found very interesting and informational. much of this story I understood very well from my past knowledge of baseball.
Moneyball is informational about the game of baseball and strategies that billy Beane used to find under rated minor league baseball players
