It's not right to racial profile someone because of their race. Just because you see someone of their race on the news and their a criminal, it doesn't mean they are all criminals. Usually someone wouldn't be out on the streets if their a criminal. So that would mean that you can't go outside and see someone of a specific race and assume they're criminals.
Others might argue that racial profiling is good because it is used in airports to keep or country safe, by keeping harmful people out. Racial profiling can keep people safe. It's also okay to racial profile people since their race is considered 'bad'. Also, profiling prevents terrorist attacks.
Racially Profiling someone is just plain wrong and it doesn't work. When someone is racial profiling another person it doesn't do anything to the person. The only thing it does do is it does is serves the person who racially profiled justice. Even thought they did nothing right. The person who got racially profiled would feel upset and angry. You shouldn't be stopped because of your race. Since theory's proven that until proven guilty you aren't guilty. So that's all the more reason to not stop people because of their race. Some people might say that it is racist to racial profile someone. But it really just depends on the situation and what's being said for it be considered 'racist'. Racial profiling is unethical even though it can help narrow down police searches, but they are still accusing innocent people of something they didn't do and if they have no sign of a criminal record.
Racially Profiling someone can easily turn into racially motivated violence. Since one race might get mad at another race for what other people of their race have done. Or they might get upset because they get racially profiled but the other race doesn't get racially profiled. So then they would feel jealous of the other race an feel like they've been targeted. Which in a way they have. Since they've been treated poorly by the other race they'll want to take it out on that person even if they didn't do it. They could get upset with them because of personal situations involving racial profiling or the topic of racial profiling just makes them really upset or mad.

John Henson is a star center for the NBA Milwaukee Bucks. One day during business hours he had gone to Schwanke-Kasten Jewelers which is a high end jewelry store. Henson had gone to go look at a watch. When he went up to the store the doors appeared to be locked. The doors had been purposely locked on him since when he tried knocking the staff ran to the back room with fear in their eyes. Henson didn't understand why they would be afraid of him. He was well known since he had just signed a $45 million contract with the Milwaukee Bucks. He was clearly a trusted man or else they wouldn't have signed that contract with him.
By late Monday night the jewelry store had contacted Henson to explain why the doors of the store had been locked on him. They said just days before Henson's visit they had experienced a robbery at the store. They were on a lookout for the car that conducted the robbery. They said that Henson's car was much like the car used in the robbery. They claimed they were just looking out for their business since they were expecting another robbery soon. So, they locked the doors on Henson afraid of another robbery. Later that night the store let out a post that said "We agree racial profiling is wrong, and we wish to apoligize to Henson for our actions and the experience Henson had at our store. We truly regret it." Henson's basketball team released a statement of their own saying "Nobody should be treated that way and we are going to get in direct contact with the company."
When the police officers of a community racially profile the citizens it doesn't allow them to work in harmony. The citizens will start to lose trust in their police officers, since the officers show lack in leadership skills. In a way the community will be offended by their police officers. They will think the officers can't trust them since they just think the community is full of horrible people. Since the officers are just assuming they did something wrong because of their race that is very untrustworthy. I do realize that not everyone in the world is innocent and there are some bad people out there but that doesn't give the officers the right to go around questioning and arresting people because of their race. That is the kind of stuff that the police officers do to lose the trust of their community.
When police officers are busy racially profiling people they don't have time to do the rest of their job. While they're too busy doing things that don't matter like racial profiling, they will have no time left over to do important things. Police officers aren't paid to racially profile citizens, they are paid to take care and keep the community safe. They aren't good at racial profiling they're good at protecting us. So why don't they protect us?
But they haven't necessarily been doing that to well lately in some parts of Canada. Instead of racial profiling shouldn't they be catching a criminal, finding missing people or any sort of important case. Not arresting someone because of their race. Arrest people who actually deserve to be arrested. So they think that racial profiling is more important than their actual job. In 2000 two thirds of Toronto's black male population was assaulted or threatened by the police. I'm sure not all of those threats were crime related, the were probably race related.
Racial profiling doesn't only happen between citizens and police officers. It can also happen between two citizens or a group of people against another group of people. Racial profiling can be between anyone not just between police officers and citizens. Racial profiling is a form of harassment and if it didn't get done by police officers it would probably be an even larger issue. Do you really think that racial profiling is fair and should continue? I don't think so. Like Muhammad Ali once said "Hating people because of their race is wrong. It doesn't matter which race does the hating it's just plain wrong."
Racial Profiling is becoming more and more of a serious topic. Now it is happening more often to more innocent people. It can start because of someones race, colour, ethnicity, ancestry, religion or their place of birth. But that isn't the only reason that racial profiling happens, it also happens because of stereotypes people believe in. Racial profiling has nothing to do with someones criminal record. It can happen to both youth and adults. But it more so happens to teens and adults. Racial profiling usually happens to the people of a darker skin colour.
In Canada racial profiling commonly happens in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. For decades in these cities people of this race get pulled over for the officers to ask questions. Racial profiling happens all over the world. But mostly in Canada and the United States since we have the largest variety of races. Even thought the stereotypes used for racial profiling were believed long ago they are still used against certain races today. During racial profiling the victim is being discriminated by the police officer.
