The Great Gatsby Timeline

Wilson, Myrtle's husband, traces Gatsby's house after finding out from Tom it was Gatsby's car. He goes to his house and shoots Gatsby and himself.

Nick Carraway arrives from the Midwest & moves to Long Island, next to Gatsby's house.

Daisy and Tom go to one of Gatsby's parties, but Daisy doesn't really like it, and this upsets Gatsby.

Nick goes to New York with Gatsby. Jordan tells Nicks about Gatsby and Daisy's past. Gatsby wants him to have tea and invite Daisy over, because he is still in love with her after 5 years.

Nick goes to New York with Tom, but on the way there they stop at a garage and talk to Wilson and Toms mistress Myrtle. Myrtle, Tom, and Nick go to the apartment Tom rents for Myrtle and have a party.

Nick has dinner with his cousin Daisy and her husband Tom at their house along with their friend Jordan Baker.

Gatsby and Daisy meet again, and at first it's awkward, but then they start to reconnect and begin an affair.

Tom gets suspicious about Gatsby and Daisy. At the Plaza hotel, Gatsby confronts Tom, tries to make Daisy leave Tom, but she refuses. On the way home, Daisy hits Myrtle while driving Gatsby's car.

Gatsby sends Nick an invitation to one of his parties. Nick goes and he sees Jordan again and meets Gatsby.

Nick tries to get people to come to Gatsby's funeral, but only a few people come. Nick meets Gatsby's dad, who is very proud of his sons accomplishments. Nick returns to the Midwest.
