1. Endure because God disciplines His children
Human fathers at best have limited purposes. God wants us to share his holiness.
If you wish for no discipline and you get it, that’s not good.
You need to remember you have a loving Heavenly Father in order to endure like Jesus did.
2. God's discipline deserves respect.
2 Peter 1:4 (ESV)
4 by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.
God's discipline has a better purpose than your father's.
God wants to give us his joy, peace, sense of belonging and love.
God's discipline has a greater reward.
Painful discipline produces the peace of righteousness.
God is setting you up to succeed - to say "well done."
God is enabling you to care well for others.
