  • In the framework of this quantitative research, firstly an
  • exploratory research is conducted to gain knowledge on the subject and then a descriptive research follows.
  • A cross sectional questionnaire is prepared to assess the perception of the students towards this issue.
  • This will then be entered into SPSS and further tests shall be conducted for further analysis.

AGEISM is a major factor for early retirement. Australia’s population is aging. More than 80% of the workforce in Australia is projected to have people aged more than 45 years by 2020. The workforce decline directly affect the country economically and socially.

According to statistics from Centrelink, there are 140,000 unemployed Australians aged between 50-64 on the Newstart allowance – because they're simply unable to find a job.

According to the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission in Australia, a whopping 68 per cent of all age discrimination complaints made are about employment.

According to the government, an extra 3 per cent participation rate in workers over 55 is estimated to account for a $33 billion boost to Australia's gross domestic product.

Value

  • CREATING AWARENESS AMONG THE STUDENTS.
  • STUDENTS INCLUDES ALL AGE GROUPS.
  • CLOSE TO 250 SURVEYS WILL BE CONDUCTED WHICH IMPLIES THAT WE GET DIFFERENT PERCEPTIONS TOWARDS AGEISM WHICH CAN BE USED FOR FURTHER RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS.
