In November 10th of 1821 the Los Santos Villa Shout movement was made and the whole region of Azuero was now free. The independence movement would start from the west of the country and with the support of previously Spanish General José de Fabrega and Liberation Leader Don Segundo de Villareal would stabily continue up to the capital to free the whole country.
Panamanians feared that retaliation from Spain would follow their indepedence if they didn't made an alliance in the near months. Also publications of the Miscelanous made almost all citizens to identify with the ideas of Simon Bolivar, so following their 28th November independence an alliance with the Great Colombia would be made almost inmediately. This alliance would prove non-beneficial as the dismantlement of the Federal State, the rejectment of the idea of an Canal made entirely by the Colombians and the recruitment of young Panamanians in the 1000 day war would be made in the 82 years of union.
In the region of Azuero (Los Santos, Herrera, Part of Veraguas) multiple protests started against the encomienda political system, due to injustice against smaller social classes made by the encomenderos. This made the crown abolish the large land ownership system in 1558 and state one based on medium to small land ownership system, distributing the land and economical welfare among the citizens of Azuero.
The Spanish Catholic Kingdom reached America in October 14th of 1492, by Genovese explorer Cristopher Columbus in the island of Guanahani, now named Saint Savior.
The coast of Panama was explored 2 times. In 1501, by Explorer Roderick of Bastidas, and by Cristopher Columbus in 1502 in his fourth and final trip.

After the Panamanian Independence army, marched into the Panama Capital, with ease due to the fact that Spanish switched sides as loyalty to José de Fabrega and also by bribe. A congress of all the regions of Panama, would form to make the Independence Act of Panama. Even the most loyalist regions like Veraguas, joined the congress, because of any royalist presence in Panama and the Spain war with Napoleon would guarantee that any reinforcement would come from Madrid. This act designated Jose de Fabrega as head of state and the loosement of ties with the Spanish Crown
In September 1510, the first European Settlement in mainland America was founded, its name. Saint Mary The Ancient. Located in the now Panamanian province of Darian. Vasco Nuñez de Balboa was appointed as Mayor of the municipal council and later 1513,Fray Juan de Quevedo as Bishop of its mission.
In August 15th of 1519, a new capital was founded, Our Lady of the Assumption of Panama with its iconical tower. It served as a strategical point, proving to be crucial in the movement of ships from the Atlantic of the Pacific.
