Blame

Debt

Germany is the one to blame for World War I. Germany is blamed due not only to the fact that they got blamed with the Treaty of Versailles, but also for having the strongest military that could knock out any other country in the war. We believe that asking for the money Italy lost during the war is enough, and that asking for anything more from them will cause more problems, so we don't have any additional proposals for the blame.

  • After the war, Italy's economy was struggling. The unemployment and food cost percentages were rising, and Italy was in 45 million dollars of debt after the war
  • As Germany is the one that got blamed for the war, they had to pay 269 billion marks. Despite the fact that they had to pay this amount, we believe Germany should have to pay Italy's debt amount. Considering the fact that they got blamed for the start of the war, they seemed like the right person to blame. On top of that, the amount of money they would have to pay us isn't on the scale they already have to pay, so adding the additional money we don't believe will cause much major problems. We would ask for all of this money up front so we don't have to worry about it not being payed, as they are in a lot of debt and might have trouble managing getting it funded at first. Germany will also have to help in creating jobs to help the unemployment rates.

Military Threats

Land Disputes

  • When Italy decided to become allies with Britain and France, they, in secret, signed a document called the Treaty of London. In this treaty, in return for becoming allies with Britain and London, they were promised land that included Tretino, Tryol as far as Brenner, Trieste and Istria, and all of the Dalmanian. Italy didn't receive most of the land that was promised after the war, so we want all of the land promised to us from the Treaty of London given to us, despite the fact that we never lost any land during the war.
  • The Austria-Hungary Army was the biggest threat to Italy during the war. Italy constantly tried to get to through Austria-Hungary through their northern borders, but each time suffered heavy losses and made little progress. They won against them only one time. Another overall big Military threat was Germany. To help defeat Germany and the Austria-Hungary Army, we think we should try to cooperate with our allies in terms of resources and technological advancements to build more durable, faster machine guns, poisons gas, planes and tanks so multiple countries can take over the powerhouse country in military threats (Germany) and a threat to Italy (Austria-Hungary Army). Germany's Army and the Austria Hungary Army will also be required to stay away from Italy and their allies' borders.
