This is where the Rhode Island colony is located.

Founder: Roger Williams is the founder of the Rhode Island colony. He is an English protestant who provided land for cast away religious minorities. He thought taking land from the Native Americans was wrong, and bought the land even though he was given a charter ( a document that gives the holder the right to organize settlements in an area).

Religious Freedom: The two most popular religious groups were the Puritans and Quakers (People who don't use force against someone).

Work Opportunities:

Women worked around the house, caring for the children, patching up clothes or making them. They helped raise money by making a surplus (an amount left over after necessary payments are paid) of candles, soap, and garments. The men worked as lumber jacks, fisher men, worked in grain mills, or simply worked in the fields if they had one. The men were also traders and they participated in the Triangular Trade (a network of trade routes that form a triangle)

Founder and Who Could Settle There:

Political Freedoms:

Men who owned land and was a member of a church or property owners got to vote. The Rhode Island Colony was called the charter colony, along with Connecticut. Colonists were given grants of rights and privileges to establish charter colony. The colonists in these colonies could elect their own governors and legislature. England could approve or reject the governors, but they can't veto the acts of legislature.

This is how rocky the soil in he Rhode Island colony was.

Farming was very limited due to this.

Hunting and Fishing and Natural Resources:

Climate and landscape and Farming

Climate:The climate in Rhode Island colony depends on it's season. In the Spring, there is a lot of rain fall and very cloudy. Summer is very humid and mild. Summer has also a long continental summer. Autumn has the ground covered in colorful leaves. The winter was very harsh. There was a lot of precipitation (as in snow).

Hunting: The colonists use the ocean as their main food supply. They hunted small fish and whales. The colonists used every part of the whale, like the Native Americans using the buffalo. They also made rum and was one of the popular drink.

Natural Resources: The trees were made into ships and houses. The ocean was used for their food, trade, and transportation. They also found iron and they used it for tools and horse shoes.

Farming: There is unwanted soil, but it is unlimited. The soil was full of rocks, but you can start your own rock collection. Plus there was fungus growing which made farming a lot harder. The New England colonies were subsistence farmers (Meaning that the family produce enough food for the families' need).
