I liked that this book because I could relate to her character. I also liked that the chapters started out with a journal entry, so you could hear how she was feeling in that moment.
One of my dislikes was that it didn't go in a lot of depth at certain parts. I also didn't like that the book was left at a cliffhanger.
This book is about a girl, Mim. Her parents got divorced, so she had to move away from her mother to live with her dad and his new wife in Mississippi. She finds out that her mom is sick, so she leaves suddenly and goes to find her in Cleveland. Along the way she encounters so many situations unlike any other with detours she never saw coming. She also meets new friends while she's on her journey.
Mosquitoland is a realistic-fiction book, because none of it happened but it potentially could happen.
I would rate this book an 8 out of 10, because it was really good, but it was missing aspects that I look for in a book.
