How does Wall-E Portray Consumerism

Thank you for Listening

In Wall-e I think that they've portrayed consumerism as a bad thing with some good elements to it. The bad stuff about consumerism in Wall-e is that the earth is so covered with rubbish that the human race have had to leave Earth, whereas Wall-e himself is a collector but all of his items are recycled so they aren't bad.

Consumerism on the Axiom

Consumerism on the Axiom

The consumerism on the Axiom is so bad that if a sign even says that they should do something different they obey blindly. The message in that is that you shouldn't do something because everyone else is.

On the Axiom the human race have tried to escape their dystopian world by going out in to space. But the need to buy has just grown and grown. For instance when a sign changes and says "blue is the new red" everyone press's a button and their clothes change to blue.

Wall-E and Consumerism

Consumerism and what it is

Consumerism in Wall-e

in Wall-e the consumerism is so overwhelming that the world has created a lot of rubbish by buying more then they need and using single use items. The human race left planet earth on a spaceship called the Axiom because Earth became dystopian. The amount of rubbish now means that the human race need special robots and cranes to pile it up.

Consumerism is the belief that it is good to spend lots of money on goods and services.

In Wall-e everything and anything is made by this huge company called Buy'N'Large who have their logo on almost every thing in Wall-e. This company is so large that their CEO is also the president of the united states.

Consumerism all started straight after World War 2. When a man called Victor Lebow thought of boosting the economy by consuming and replacing at an ever-accelerating rate.
