Question 3. What kind of media institution might distribte your media product and why?

BAUER

Due to who Bauer already works with I would assume that Bauer media group is a great decision for who should be the media institute for 'forgotten'. Due to Bauer providing certain attributes which gives would benefit my magazine. By working closely with 'Kerrang' and 'Mojo' Bauer would have made a lot of contacts as it built a repuatation for itself. My magazine is in a similar genre and style to the other magazines which the institute works with so the institute would know an effective way to advertise and ,market the magazine. I have gathered this through my research and through the fact that both 'Kerrang' and 'Mojo' are both widely popular with the same target audience. There

is a gap in the market for my ‘Forgotten’ music

magazine as the genre is heavy metal where as Bauer magazines mainly focus on rock and roll. Furthermore, the current magazines which collaborate with Bauer would be able to give successful ways to entice and intrigued the target audience due to having a similar audience.

Opportunities

My first choice for a media institute would be Bauer due to already collaborating with 'Q' and 'Kerrang' which hold a similar target audience. Furthermore, I think my magazine as a whole would grow and expand due to the fact that with Bauer's connections, my magazine will be able to distribute to a wider mass audience which could expand with releasing my product to various other countries.

Also both 'Q' and 'Kerrang' have official websites which allows their target audience to access their content and merchandise etc. This could benefit my magazine because marketting online is below the line advertising which would allow my magazine to become more well known but for a smaller cost, compared to if I used old media to advertise my product. Furthermore, I could also have advertising on my websites for other products my magazine are apart of, as well as having the possiblity for the target audience to subscribe to my magazine and share the web page via social networking eg Twitter, Facebook etc. Which will interact with my target audience due to research proving that my target audience are connected and respond positively to online marketing. Bauer are also apart of a radio station which has been around since 1990, this radio station Liverpool's Radio City could advertise my magazine and use it's popular fan base to boost the popularity of my magazine.
