Sudan

The civil war originated in Southern Sudan and spread throughout the Blue Nile and to the Nuba Mountains. There was an agreement made in 1972 which the purpose was to dispel the figting it only increased leading to reigniting the North and South conflict.

The civil war was a conflict against that lasted from 1983 to 2005. This was between the central Sudanese government and the peoples liberation army. It was largely a continuation of the first Sudanese civil war.(1955-1972) There was 9 million child soldiers involved.

The land of Sudan has be inhabited by people for thousands of years. The first major empire to emerge was Kushites. There is a total of 2,505,80 squared K.M. in Sudan. It is located in North Eastern Africa.

The rebel army was known as the Sudan Peoples liberation army. The army was lead by John Garand De Mabior. Following his death in 2005 the leader became Salva Kiir Mayardit.
