  • Failing to put your body weight onto your lead foot.
  • Allowing your arms to move about.
  • Bending your body at the waist.

'Dressing' Problems

- This can be caused either by heat or low blood sugar.

- Failing to concentrate and losing the step and timings of movements.

-'Tick-Tocking'...!!

  • Only looking up and down and not square to your side.
  • Allowing your neck to extend too far forward.
  • Standing in a position where your shoulders are not square.
  • Adjusting your position by shuffling your feet.

Saluting Problems

1.3

Explain how to avoid problems in foot drill

There are several things that instructors will look out for – these are common mistakes that can be ironed out by practice.

- Failing to turn both your head and eyes in the correct direction.

- Failing to keep your head and body straight.

- Having your elbow too far forward.

- Not keeping a straight saluting hand.

Getting foot drill right is a gradual process and for some it will seem impossible and very strange.

However, over the generations, hundreds of thousands of individuals have mastered foot drill and they have done this by avoiding many of the problems.
