I loved the book. It was hard to read at first because it starts with a flashback type deal, but once I got into the book it was a nice strong flow. The book itself was a funny but then again sad. Another way it was difficult to read was that there was rarely any dialogue, so Fischer used metaphor after metaphor. But overall I turned out to love this big and would read it again.

One of the few books I've read more than 3 times. I've called people up just to read them sentences out of this book. Reading this will make you sympathetic towards Hungarians and basketball players. All of TF's other fiction is rotten, so don't bother with his subsequent books.
