Social Order in the Future

  • Technology is also challenging the ways of social institutions and law which will create a bigger need for social order in countries where social order already exists.
  • In other countries where there is no social order they are realizing that it can help them.
  • This in turn will create more countries that have a democratic like government.

The Need For Social Order

Purpose

Historical Significance

  • This game illustrates the difference of a society with and without social order.
  • A society with social order provides direction and structure for it's citizens while a society without social order provides no order to civilization.

Example Of Society With & Without Social Order

Vancouver 2011 - Stanley Cup Finals

The need for social order sets up a society that is civil.

  • In result of the riot an estimated amount of $4.4 million dollars in damage to property was claimed.
  • This is an excellent example of why there is a need for social order and structure because once the social order in Vancouver (police) were compromised all order in the city was lost. As a result to the lack of order, the city was pillaged by savagery.
  • In conclusion the lack of social order in the streets of Vancouver resulted in riots and savage acts to take place, ultimately creating a savage society.

Social order - 11:15 - 11:45

No social order - 1:02:10 - 1:03:00

  • Throughout time, humans and societies have shown to us that civil society’s and order are needed in order to form a strong manageable society.
  • The 2011 Vancouver riot was a public disturbance started by fans in the streets of downtown Vancouver. The riot took place during game 7 of the Stanley cup finals, after Vancouver’s loss to the Boston bruins and is a prime reason why society needs social order.
  • The riot began at around 7 :45 Pm with some spectators throwing bottles and other objects at the large screens in the viewing area. Boston Bruins flags and Canuck jerseys were set afire, and soon some buildings were looted and vandalized.
  • The number of people involved in the riot was estimated at 155,000. Once the crowd became unruly, the police's communications systems failed, leading to a loss of control of the situation by civil authorities.

Chapter #7

Chapter #9

  • Jack sitting on thrown = power over other children.
  • effects of no social = more savage (ex. pig dance, killing Simon.
  • Lack of social order amongst boys = devolution.
  • Boys are becoming more savage in both appearance and mindset (ex. killing of pigs, hunting ritual, irrational decisions).
  • Parachutists “ruin of a face.”

- Adult face = structured society.

- Face is destroyed = destruction of social order.

Chapter #10

Chapter #8

  • Ralph has lost all leadership.
  • Democracy and social order is gone.
  • Jack is a “proper chief” – uses violence to control boys.
  • Jack does whatever he wants – dictatorship.
  • Roger and the boys realize that with lack of authority they can do whatever they wants.
  • Jack demonstrates that is the now the leader of the island by stealing Piggy's glasses - he now controls the vision of the island.

  • Jack establishes his own tribe.
  • Dictatorship – appoints himself chief.
  • Hunting is their greatest belief.
  • Jack demands that they will forget beast and won’t dream = no more hope of rescue = complete elimination of all social order.
  • With the loss of social order the boys have become complete savages (ex. Murder of the sow).
