Under that, Canada federally passed Extradition Act that stipulates that Canada will refuse to return anyone to a country that is willing to punish the one with the reason of race , religious , sex , ethnic origin ,and so on. (1999)
Reason of choosing: In this time of period it is very clear that Canada had developed human rights and freedoms into a federal level importance and into internaionally afterwoards. Thats how much this country value Human Rights.

1, Dominion Election Act: It was basicly an act that banned 'Disqualified' Citizenships form voting in federal elections by the threat from WW2. The main group of people invovled are Canadian-Chinese,Japanese & Indian. Meaning that they do not have the right to paticipate in Canada's demoracy at the time.
2, In Ottawa,Ontario 1948,section 14(2)(i) in the Dominion Election Act is offically repealed. That was that section that banned 'Disqualified' Citizens from voting and by cancelling that means now all citizens have the right to vote under democracy.

1, Chinese Immigration Act (1900) : It is being said that it is an act that restrict and regulate Chinese Immidration into Canada. At that time even the PM Sir John A Macdonald called Chinese civiliazation 'semi-barbaric' and 'machines'. At that time people who are from China and willing to immgrate will be taxed $50-$100 right on without question.Which at that time is big buggets. So in that part of the history Canada had really discrimianted against the Chinese and they have no rights.
2, 1904: The 'Head tax' for the Chinese is raised to $200 with no question. And some province started an anti-Chinese wave.
Reason of choosing these: It directly related to myself as a Chinese right now and enjoying the rights and people in this period of history won't. And that interests me a bit.
