The Four Kingdoms of Eukarya

By Jeremy Liu

They can be

heterotrophs or

autotrophs, too!

The 2nd Kingdom

Fungi

The kingdoms are being introduced

from least complex to most complex.

Plants!

And now the most complex kingdom...

Animalia!

The kingdom Animalia is made

up of multicellular eukaryotes that

are heterotrophs. Humans belong

to this kingdom, so do birds and

lizards.

Frog

The Animalia kingdom

contains about 2 million species.

The First Kingdom

They don't have a brain, only a nucleus!

Protists

Protists are eukaryotic organisms that can't be placed in the fungi, plant, or animal kingdom. They can be either multicellular or unicellular.

Protist

Amoeba, Actinopods, and Trypanosoma are in this kingdom.

FUNGI

Fungi were actually in the plant kingdom for many years!

Fungi can be unicellular

or multicellular. They are eukaryotes that are all heterotrophs, as they feed on dead or decaying organisms, and live near them.

Mushrooms, yeast, and

molds belong to this kingdom.

Type of fungus

Flower

There are over 250,000 species in the plant kingdom!

Many are familiar

with plants. This kingdom has organisms that are ONLY multicellular. They are autotrophs, and provide indirect food energy for heterotrophs.

Trees, plants, and vegetables belong to this kingdom.

Now the most complex kingdom...
