Tribal Wear

-Body Paint: bodies tattooed with different symbols

-Animal skins were a big part of their wardrobe: garments of skin, moccasin buckskin

-During celebrations, they wear feather match-coats, false face masks and headdresses of turkey feathers

Death and Afterlife beliefs -

- Bodies of more important individuals were dried after certain organs being removed and then decorated with ornaments..etc, then placed in a temple-tomb.

-women would paint their faces with black coal, sit for 24 hours in their houses mourning with 'great' expression (yelling..etc.) to express their emotions

-They would have bear sacrifices then have shamans pray to the Gods for plentiful crops that season

-One supreme god that had several deities, believed to have mad numerous worlds before this one, but the rest 'failed'; stars and moon (related to religious ways), very moralistic

-The Tutelo today live in the coal regions of Central Pennsylvania.

-Rather smaller tribe, 750 people by mid-1700
