When World War II broke out in Holland, Corrie Ten Boom hid as many Jewish people in her house above her watch making studio as possible.

Unfortunately she was betrayed by one of her friends and her and her family were sent to Ravensbruck – a concentration camp located in Germany

Forgiving

while sharing her story at a church, she comes across a guard at Ravensbruk who abused her. With God's help she forgives the former guard.

While in the camp, her father died within 10days of being imprisoned and her sister Betsie died from a sickness and lack of food.

Before she died Betsie had told Corrie "There is no pit so deep that God's love is not deeper still." Corrie lived off of this and endured her years in the camp.

She was released on New Year's Eve of December 1944. She made her way to the United States until war had ended.

After the war ended she returned to the Netherlands to set up rehabilitation centers. This refuge house consisted of concentration camp survivors and sheltered the jobless Dutch who previously collaborated with the Germans during the occupation.

Generous

She was very generous to give her time to help out at these centers

She also returned to Germany and traveled the world as a public speaker, appearing in over sixty countries, during which time she wrote 26 books.

corrie traveled a lot and spoke in many different languages

In 1977, Corrie ten Boom, then 85 years old, moved to Orange, California. Successive strokes in 1978 took away her powers of speech and communication and left her an invalid for the last five years of her life. She died on her 91st birthday, April 15, 1983.
