What is the field called that studies birds?
What type of metamorphosis is this?
What doesn't it eat?
I am an ornithologist. Ornithology is the study of birds. The ornithologist must study the way a certain bird lives. I am studying the life of an eagle.
How long can it live in captivity? In the wild?
Can you infer how long the eagle is a youth?
8 weeks.
A thin layer of shell.
The certain kind of bird being studied is a bald eagle. If you didn't know, the bald eagle is the national bird for America and a protected species. An ornithologist must examine them without ever causing harm as this is hard to do without a facility. To the left you see a picture showing a bald eagles life cycle
Ornithologist.
Incomplete.
Domestic livestock.
50. 30-35.
5-7 years.
The eagle like any other bird is born from an egg. It is a regular way for almost all non mammal species to reproduce. The egg is more of a thin layer of shell covering the bird.
The metamorphosis type is incomplete due to the fact that the wings were always there and that theres only three stages. The reason that 3 stages shows it is because most incomplete metamorphosis are 3 stages. It only grew but no big differences were made besides color change physically.

The egg is of course a layer of thin shell keeping the eagle protected. The egg is protected by the mother. once the egg is ready to hatch, the eagle will break the shell easily because its so thin.

The adults life up to 50 years in captivity and 30-35 years in the wild. The wing span of the eagles are up to 7 feet and weigh up to 9 pounds. The eagles can't live in isolation. The bald eagles are near the top of the food chain so they are like a test of whether the ecosystem is healthy or not. The eagle eats smaller animals but not domestic livestock.
The mother protects the young bald eagles. These are mottled brown and white. They get distinct white heads and tails between 4-5 years of age. The young feed on the small prey. When they are 8 weeks old, they stretch their wings at which strong gusts of wing lift them off their feet as they start to learn to fly. After they become adults, they can life for 30 years in the wild.
