“the Census Bureau reported last year that nearly one American in five speaks a language other than English at home,with Spanish leading, and Chinese growing fast.”

By 20th century the USA has emerged as an economic and political superpower ("The History of English").

English is the main language for communicating with people who has different dialects through media.

"English speakers now have lower birth rates,on average, than speakers of Hindi, Urdu, Arabic, and Spanish."

The countries began to come together in globalization, and they need to be able

to communicate

In fact, there are increasing numbers of bilingual and multilingual speakers, even within English-speaking countries.
