Streptococcus belongs to the Eubacteria kingdom.
There is no definite discovery date for Strep Throat since medical technology was not advanced enough to fully identify the bacteria that caused it. There were cases of deaths from throat infections during the late 1800's and during the 1900's.
Strep throat is a bacterial infection that causes pain in the throat. This condition is caused by streptococcus bacteria. It can affect children and adults of all ages, but it's most common in children between the ages of 5 and 15. Sneezing and coughing can spread the infection.
Throat pain,
difficulty swallowing,

swollen, tender lymph glands- (nodes) in the neck,
fever, headache, rash,
stomachaches and sometimes vomiting, and fatigue.
Strep Throat is treated with antibiotics. Without treatment, the symptoms of Strep Throat begin subsiding in four or five days. However, because of the chance of getting Rheumatic fever, it's important to treat Strep Throat. If Rheumatic fever does occur, the outcomes vary; some people can be cured, but others can have heart problems. In the 1900's throat infection was the leading cause of death for children with an overall mortality rate of 10%. Strep throat, on the other hand, was not identified as an important illness needing diagnosis and treatment until after antibiotics were in often use. The best way to prevent Strep Throat is to avoid close contact with an infected person.
