This design featured three thin canons that would be front loaded and adjustable in height.

Unlike any other canon, Leonardo's invention made it faster and easier by being able to load three shots at once, enabling them to fire more frequently.

The lighter weight and large wheels allowed the gun carriage to be moved around to different areas during the battle.

Canons, in Leonardo's time were mainly used at home in stationary positions and not on the battlefield, because they were heavy and took a lot of time to reload.

One of Leonardo's key beliefs was that mobility was crucial to victory on the battlefield. This idea was shown in many of his different inventions.

While gunpowder was in it's infancy, Leonardo used it frequently in most of his designs.

They say that it was one of his least successulf creations.

The Triple Barrel Canon was found by a young group of school children, who then told the mueseum officials in town. They 15ht centuries origin remained a mystery until just recently when they discovered what it was.

Most of the Triple Barrel Canons that you see in mueseums are replicas of Leonardo's work.

As far as anyone knows, Leonardo only made one Triple Barrel Canon, which displays in Benkovac.
