IDEA 1

My first idea is about a young boy or girl who signs into a social networking site on a public computer, preferably at a youth club. After using it they forget to logout their account and another young person comes along and uses it. That young person uses that persons social networking site and pretends to be them.

*scene changes*

The first person makes their journey home but every person shown on the way looks exactly the same as them but to the main person, the faces look burred and pixilated. Ends with a slogan… OR ends with another person sitting at that same computer on that twitter or face book account updating 3 status’s about identity fraud telling people that they they shouldn’t leave their accounts signed in especially on a public computer.

actors needed: Main boy/girl and 6-8 other young people of the same gender.

props: Computer, phone, masks(faces),

setting: tooting hub youth club, connections or mac room.

Lines of appeal & my target audience

I have chosen to target 11-19 year olds with my PSA. I chose these ages because many young people these days between those ages spend a substantial amount of time on social networking sites and many of them are still un aware of how to protect themselves against identity fraud. Also many of them are unaware of all the different types of identity fraud. In order to draw them in and get their attention i am going to use shock and humor as my lines of appeal and a key feature of the advert will be music as young people relate to music and many of them also communicate via music.

IDEA 2

My second idea is set in a music studio where a young person records a song and forgets to logout of their account, another young person comes along and discovers that the person before hasn’t signed out and see’s the unreleased track. They then use that track, release it and get publicity from it.

*scene change*

1 week later, the song has gone big and someone else is gaining the publicity. The local youth cllub holds a rap pabbtle, this new song is performed by the person who stole it and in the audience everyone was turning into the original maker of the song (same faces).

Ends by showing the audience that it was all a dream and the slogan.

My audience research was helpful to me when putting together my advert ideas as i have tried to incorporate awareness about social networking sites, online shopping and computer accounts. Young people know about identity theft but they don't know enough in depth. It's important to educate them at this age so the are vigilant about it in the future. Also many of them were concerned about their safety online so my PSA advert will demonstrate how to stay safe online.

Key Narrative:

The main aim of this advert is to make young people aware of the effects of identity theft through social networking, memory sticks, computer accounts or forgetting to log out of their shopping accounts. Alot of young people forget to log out of their accounts when using the internet and this is one of the easiest ways to for someone to steal others identity's. From social networking sites and online shopping accounts a person can find you home address, telephone number and bank account details which automatically gives them a chance to steal your full identity.

I have chosen to use thse conventions as they relate to my chosen target audience. Young people listen to alot of music these days so if i use music that they take interest in then it would help capture their attention. I have chosen to use a slogan as one sentence can pontentially be as or more powerful than the advert itself.
