The theme of this novel would be love can come with a price. Josh is more alone than he ever was now because Jordan takes all of his time into basketball and Miss Sweat Tea. "I don't think I'll ever get use to walking home from school, alone. Playing Madden, alone. Listening to Lil Wayne, alone". ( Alexander 213). Etc.
