The components of a healthy diet

A healthy diet is one that helps maintain or improve health. It is important for the prevention of many chronic health risks such as: obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.

There are 7 types of components that make up a balanced diet

  • Carbohydrates
  • vitamins
  • minerals
  • fibre
  • fats
  • water
  • protiens

these are separarted into simple or complex carbohydrates.

Simple carbohydrates or sugars as some people call them, include glucose and sugar.

On the other hand Complex carbohydrates oe starches , include pasta , bread and rice.

carbohydrates are on of the bodys main sources of energy and are essential for active people!
