Which Cigarette Brand is the Worst for Your Health?

Introduction

Our group chose this topic because of the interesting facts about smoking and the impact it causes around the world. As a group we can share the negative affects of smoking scientifically and academically. We can tell our audience the difference between brands and which is worst for your health. Our main goal is to persuade our audience not to become a smoker and give explanations why.

Before

After

Marlboro ended up being the worst cigarette brand because of the yellowness that was in the cotton balls. Also Marlboro took the longest for the cigarette smoke to clear from the bottle.

Research

What we learned....

Conclusion:

  • In 1978 one out of every 5 packs were Marlboro cigarettes.
  • Marlboro sold 472.7 billion individual cigarettes in 2012.
  • In 1994 tobacco companies released active ingredients in there products, there were a total of 599
  • Marlboro was the first brand to use ammonia technology in there products which delivered more nicotine to smokers. Ammonia is found naturally in tobacco leaves
  • Urea is found in urine but when burned allows the smokers lungs to inhale nicotine more smoothly
  • Acetone is found in nail polish
  • lead is used in batteries
  • Arsenic is used in rat poison is,
  • Tar is used for paving roads and much more ingredients 4,800 different chemicals can be released when the cigarette is burned.

During our experiment we learned the negative affects of cigarettes. This experiment just required 1 cigarette and we cant imagine if we put a whole pack a day as some smokers do. Through our research we found out how many bizarre and dangerous substances are found in cigarettes and we want to inform our audience not to smoke.

After asking the question, “Which cigarette brand is the worst for your health?” and completing my experiment, I have concluded that Marlboro is the worst cigarette brand because my experiment supported this answer. When I placed the cigarette in the soda cap the smoke traveled through the bottle. Over time the ash fell and landed on the cotton balls. Marlboro ended up leaving the cotton balls the most yellow and it took 3 min for Marlboro's smoke to clear from the soda bottle, therefore, my experiment did support my hypothesis

Materials/procedures

Hypothesis

Materials:

(15) cotton balls, (1)Marlboro cigarettes, (1) Winston Cigarette (1) Camel Cigarette, (3) empty soda bottles, Water

Procedures:

First we have to put cotton bottles in the soda bottles which equals to 5 cotton balls for each bottle. Next we put a little bit of water in the cotton balls. Third we lit the cigarette and squeeze the bottle to represent the breathing of a human. Fourth we observe which cotton balls turned the yellowish and which soda cigarette brand is still floating in the bottle. Fifth we test the other cigarettes just the way this one was explained. We then write down our observation and take pictures of the cotton balls.

Based on our research we can conclude that Marlboro creates the worst cigarettes for the human body. We can back this hypothesis up with the number of sales Marlboro has. Marlboro can have this huge number of sales due to high amount of nicotine and other substances that other companies dont offer or have the same amount of such as urea which is found in urine, (but when heated allows nicotine to enter the lungs more smoothly.) So to wrap it up

Marlboro has more chemicals and substances that makes the user more addictive to this brand and why Marlboro can be the worst cigarette brand in the market.
