This took place in the Dominican Republic on October 2 - 8, 1937. The leader was Dictator Rafael Leonidas Trujillo Molina who killed off 20,000 Haitians. The law that protects the Haitians in this case would be the ethnic group. Many Haitians tried to escape but not many were successful.
