About the Feud

Conflict Between Supreme Leader and President

-Supreme Leader: Ayatollah Ali Khamenei

-President: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

-Both are conservatives

-Their battle is for internal power

-Feud is becoming "bitter and public"

-Mr. Khamenei hinted he may abolish the

presidency

-Mr. Ahmadinejad reluctant to take the hint

-Arguments such as, the firing of Iran's inelligence minister

-Supreme leader is supposed to stay away from mundance politics

-World thinks that Mr. Ahmadinejad is Iran's main leader, not the case

-Former Senior Iranian Official: ""If the leader were to withdraw his support, Ahmadinejad's political future would be finished....He is scared of [Khamenei], like a dog".
