How did it change civilization

Who invented the catapult

catapults less changed civilization and more changed warfare. catapults were one of the first long range form of combat. it changed the very aspect of war.

The greeks built the first "catapult". However, the thing that we depict as a catapult was made by the Romans. Both are exeptibal.

What other ways are catapults used and How are catapults used today

originally catapults were used to shoot big rocks at enemys. Today, we use guns and cannons for that. But modern catapults are used to lanuch planes off of aircraft carriers

The first type of catapult, known as the early balista, was made in 299-399 BC. by the Greeks. Then came the Mangonel, which was made in 400 BC. by the Romans and is what you think of when you think of catapult. Finally the Trebuchet, which was made in 300 BC. by the Chinease, and looks like a wrecking ball.
