Conclusion

Causes of the Explosions

Broken Laws

The cause was determined two days after the explosions. T-102 tower jammed up and was not handled properly.

Factory bosses failed to obey safety procedures, using heat sources and electricity in unsafe ways, said the Public Security Bureau. Experts say the incident in Jilin highlights the lack of fire prevention equipment or fire safety training available to Chinese workers.

Effects

The blast was so powerful it blew out windows 100-200 meters away from the scene. Four employees died immediately. 70 people were injured and 2 people died later on. The fire burned all night and wasn't put out until the next day. Over 10,000 local residents had to evacuate the area. It seriously effected the Songhua River. It also forced the water plant to shut down until everything was cleared.
