Predators

  • Bengal Tigers moved into the area we now call India
  • Indicated something major was going on regarding the surface area of the Earth and had to move to new locations in order to continue surviving

The only and main predator to tigers are Humans, who over hunt them and destroy their habitats.

Bengal Tigers

  • Live in grasslands, subtropical and tropical rainforests, scrub forests, wet and dry deciduous forests and mangroves
  • Are carnivores and eat amber deer, wild pigs, water buffalo and antelope
  • They are terrestrial and are active most in the day

  • The Sumatran Tiger
  • Were isolated from other tigers due to a rise in the sea level
  • As a result their genetic profile as a species is more unique that that of others
  • Smallest of the tiger subspecies
  • Males: 265 pounds and eight feet long from head to tail
  • Females: 200 pounds and seven feet long
  • Live in swamps, rivers, lowlands and Montane and peat forests. These wet conditions are ideal for these good swimmers so they can pursue prey in water quite efficiently.
  • Are carnivores and eat birds, fish and monkeys
  • Are terrestrial and are active during the day
  • The saber-tooth
  • Were meat eaters, or carnivores
  • Mostly hunted wooly mammoths, deer and bison
  • Was much stockier than modem day cats
  • It had short legs, short ears, and short feet, and a short tail.
  • Lived in the grasslands and forest in a warm climate
  • They were terrestrial and hunted during the day
  • The sabortooth Evolved into the subspecies known as the modern day Tiger, which is further broken down into more species.
