Where was the tsunami? Why did it occur?
THE RELIEF EFFORT
Over 50 countries donated money to help the countries that were affected by the Indian Ocean Tsunami. The total of money given added up to 10 billion US dollars.
Governments, humanitarian organisations and many people around the world arrived, volunteering to offer aid and technical support.
Australia, India, Japan, United States formed a partnership to order aid efforts to streamline immediate assistance.
"THE IMPOSSIBLE"
The tsunami occurred in the Indian Ocean in 2004 going along the coasts that bordered the Indian Ocean hitting countries such as, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Somalia, Malaysia and Indonesia.
It occurred due to the Burma Plate colliding against the Indian Plate, creating a massive earthquake which provoked the tsunami.
