Rap to my knowledge is by far the most popular types of music out there and has the biggest influences on today's youth. When you typically hear rap music you usually get a pumped up effect and people tend to copy the rappers, from their style, to their beats, such as remixes. People also start to copy the words they hear such as cursing words or phrases. Clothing is another thing that the youth can copy from the rap videos.

types of rap such as comedy rap, gangster rap, and free-styling rap. As you know rap has different influences on today youth also
When the youth today listens to R&B it can usually has a soul affect on people putting them in a soul-type-feeling. R&B encompasses a variety of styles including soul, Motown, funk, disco, rap, hip-hop, doo-wop, black rock ‘n’ roll, club blues and jump blues, according to MSN Encarta. Characteristics of R&B include soulful singing over a strong backbeat, commonalities in rhythm, bands divided into a rhythm and horn section, repetition of rhythms, verses and notes, and often complex blending of instruments.
Those are the only two types of music that I see have an affect on todays youth, we don't listen to much more then that. In conclusion today's music has an classy, pumped affect also it influences our style and who we hang out with. Now as I said about how music affects style, Hip-hop usually has the more up to date clothing meaning people usually copy off of the styles of hip-hop artist, example: snap backs or adidas. A lot more people have dreads now because a lot more rappers started to have them.
