What would you do?

Being stranded on a

tropical island would

be paradise.

Children can naturally organize

themselves.

Our environment can greatly

impact the course of our lives.

Most people are followers,

not leaders.

A good leader must

have charisma.

A good leader must

have moral integrity.

People are essentially good

at heart.

There is usually a clear-cut

winner in most conflicts.

Society does not need police or written laws to keep people honest.

There is a "beast within each

and every one of us.

A severe storm has crippled a small ship, the S.S. Plattsburgh, and the only remaining lifeboat has room for only five people. You have no hope of reaching civilization, but there's a fairly good chance that you can make it to one of many small, uncharted, and unpopulated islands in the area. You may have to remain on such an island for years.

SL.01.A

Come to discussions prepared, having read and researched material under study; explicitly draw on that preparation by referring to evidence from texts and other research on the topic or issue to stimulate a thoughtful, well-reasoned exchange of ideas.

SL.01.B

Work with peers to set rules for collegial discussions and decision-making (e.g., informal consensus, taking votes on key issues, presentation of alternate views), clear goals and deadlines, and individual roles as needed.

SL.01.C

Propel conversations by posing and responding to questions that relate the current discussion to broader themes or larger ideas; actively incorporate others into the discussion; and clarify, verify, or challenge ideas and conclusions.
