Plot 1
The story begins with a brief explanation of the present time. For eg; in the story it begins with "Marley is dead", indicating the death of scrooges old business partner. Marley's been dead for about 7-8 years now, the beginning of the story made this very clear.
The first plot in the story occurs when scrooge is visited by Marley's ghost, he's spent years wandering the Earth in his heavy chains as punishment for his sins, making him unable to rest.He then tells scrooge he will be visited by three spirits, and given the chance to change his ways.
In this plot scrooge is visited by the last spirit, the ghost of yet to come. With the spirits black hooded robe, he brings scrooge to the presence of three business men. There they discuss the death of a rich man. Curious, he begs the spirit to show him who the dead man is. Scrooge then takes a visit to his own grave, making scrooge very merciful.
The characters in this book are Ebenezer Scrooge, the main character. Bob Cratchit, Scrooge’s clerk. Tiny Tim, bobs crippled son. Jacob Marley, scrooges dead business partner, and the ghost of Christmas past, present, and yet to come.
In this last plot scrooge wakes up from his dream and is grateful for another chance to change his ways. He then transforms into a selfless, kind and caring man. in this part of the book he starts his day by sending a poor looking boy to the market to get himself the biggest turkey for his family. this shows the immediate change in scrooge's character.
Recommendation
You could say scrooge played both roles, the protagonist and the antagonist. I say this because during most of the story scrooge was a very distant, cold and bitter man. He had no particular interest, sympathy or concern for anybody. However, after the visitation of the three well known spirits. Scrooge became a kind, caring and selfless man.
yes, i would recommend this book because i like how the author used the three spirits for symbolic references.
The ghost of Christmas yet to come represent the fear of death
THE END
While the ghost of Christmas present represents charity and empathy.
The setting of this story was not so much targeted on the physical surroundings of the dreary life in London. Nor was it based on the variation between rich and poor, but mainly on the conditions of Ebenezer Scrooge’s life. The book takes place mostly in Scrooge’s business, his house and Bob Cratchits home
For example; the ghost of Christmas past. With its glowing head represents memory and wisdom.
