- The parents of children are involved in making major decisions like marriage and choosing a profession

- Before the revolution in Iran, education was greatly increased for all people under the Shah's rule
- It was traditional in Iran to incorporate religion into schools
- They would learn the basics of literacy and the fundamentals of religion
- Better education was given to those of a higher class
- Girls didn't wear veils at that time
- Sch00ls were bilingual
