The Birth of Walt Disneyland...

Along with his brother, Roy, the $17 million Disneyland theme park opened in the Summer of 1955. The theme park became known as a place for families to got to have a great time and even meet the Disney Characters. The park increased its investment tenfold in a short amount of time . People from around the world came to the park. After a few years he began the project to build another theme park in Florida. When he was diagnosed with lung cancer the park was still under construction in 1966. Roy carried on the plans. It opened in 1971 and was called Walt Disney World. As of now it has expanded to other parts of the world.

Walt Disney had interests in many things, which made him so successful in life. He loved art and that included drawing, painting, photography, cartoons, and movies. He also loved making people happy. He achieved this by creating so many characters, cartoons, movies, and theme parks for people to visit with their families.

Famous Entrepreneur Project

Walt's special abilities be his talent and art and determination to succeed. Since he was a child he was an entrepreneur by selling his work to people to he knew. Being determine in school bettered his talent. Using his talent he made cartoons and commercials with his creations bringing success. He won many awards for his the work that he did. One of the most famous cartoons he made was The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. The last major motion picture he produced himself was Mary Poppins. It mixed live action with animation.

  • When Disney was young with the paintings and drawings he created he would sell them to people which was being an entrepreneur.
  • At high school he took different forms of art classes to better the talent he had.

  • At night he would then go to the Chicago Art Institute to take to classes to really push himself and be more knowledgeable about art.

Early Life...

Walter Elias Disney "Walt", was born on December 5th, 1901 in Chicago Illinois. When he was young he started painting and drawing and then selling them to neighbors and friends. During high school he took drawing and photography classes and was even a cartoonist for the school's newspaper. At the Chicago Art Institute he took classes at night to further his talent. At the age of 16 he dropped out of school and joined the Red Cross. He was then to sent to France to drive an ambulance for a year.
