How do I do the UEA Award?
By the end of today you will know...
- The UEA Award has three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold to cater for different levels of commitment, with a minimum number of hours required for each.
- You can undertake the Award throughout the 3/4 years of your undergraduate degree, during a Masters degree and up to six months after graduation.
- The UEA Award involves making activities you already do ‘count’ as well as giving opportunity to try new things.
- The Award is written up through a series of forms on the MyCareerCentral system.

What could MTH students submit to the Award?
The NBS PDP counts as 1 event in the Career Mgt Section in Bronze and substitutes for 1 appointment in Silver.
You don't submit the PDP itself. Talk about the process of discussing it with your adviser.

MTH student course rep
Building a website/ piece of software
Language classes
Internships
Any part-time work (bar work, teaching)
Student guiding/ student ambassador
PAL
Technical proficiency - e.g. using MAPLE or MATLAB
Group project - submit a report and a working version of Matlab code
and do a 5 min presentation
Various aspects of problem solving - proofs, finding solutions to
'real world' problems

How can I get involved?

Write up your activities and know that you are developing attributes desirable to employers and society; be recognised for the great things you do with a University certificate.

When you’ve completed the UEA Award you’ll have plenty of material to help your CV and applications stand out from the crowd.
