Spinal Curvature Disorder

The cause of Spinal Curvature disorder is unknown, but is described based on the age when it's develops & the form that it makes.

There is no prevention ):

- abnormal curve of the spine

- head appears off center

- one hip or shoulder to be higher than the opposite side

- obvious curve on one side of the rib cage

Diagnosis:

Risk Factors:

- Spinal curvature is mostly common in girls than boys, in can appear at any time of age but its mostly shown at over 10 years of age. If the parents have spinal curvature than the child is mostly likely they would have it too.

- For this condition usually the doctor would look up family history and exam your spine at a physical exam; use x-rays to look closely at your spine. The x-rays show abnormalities to the bones of the spine and measure how much curve is present.

Types of Spinal Curvature Disorders

-Kyphosis is the hump back.

-Lordosis which the spine of the person that goes inward in the lower back.

-Scoliosis is the form of the spine is an S or C shape.

Prognosis:

-Double curves have a worst prognosis but about 90% have a better chance then others.

-If the kid is at a small age they will need surgery because as the child gets older and bigger it will make the prognosis worst.

Treatments:

-Surgery, person loosing weight, medication so your back wont hurt, exercising, physical therapy.

-Wearing a back brace.

-Depending on the type of spinal curvature the person has.
