What Type Of Star We Feel Is Best

A medium sized yellow star with the spectral type G would be the best candidate for a solar system with an Earth-like planet. Our sun is also a medium sized yellow star with the spectral type G, and It would be best if the star was similar to the Sun. It would be easier for us to become accustomed to, and since we have adapted to our sun, it would be better to find something similar for the continuation of humans.

Why Scheat Is A Good Candidate For A Solar System With An Earth-Like Star

Magnitude/Luminosity

Scheat is an irregular variable, which means it's brightness varies unpredictably . Because of this, it's apparent magnitude varies between 2.1 and 3.0. It's average magnitude is 2.42.

Scheat's luminosity is 340 times that of the sun, not including invisible infrared. Factoring in the infrared rays, the true luminosity is 1500 times that of the sun.

Temperature

Since Scheat is a red giant, it is fairly cool compared to other stars. It's surface temperature is 3689° K

Scheat is a good candidate for a solar system with an Earth-like planet because it is similar to the sun in many aspects. An example of this is the fact that both stars are composed of little helium and neutral metals. As well as their similarities, there are also some differences. The temperature of Scheat and the Sun are quite different. What must be considered however, is the fact that Scheat is much much larger than the sun and an earth like planet would do great with a lower temperature star as long as it was closer to the star, in a goldilocks zone. So the difference in temperature is really not a problem. Scheat is also a good candidate because of it's distance from Earth. It may be far away, but it sure is closer than a lot of other stars out there. Valuable time and money could be saved if Scheat were to be chosen.

Composition

Scheat is classified with the spectral type M, which means it is a reddish color and has a composition of little or no hydrogen, neutral metals, and molecules. The star's outer shell is also in good condition for titanium oxide to form.

Size and Color

Scheat is a star with an orange-reddish hue. It shines very brightly and it's color is quite noticeable from a telescope.

The star is very big, with a solar mass of 2.1 (4.177E30 kg), and it is classified as a red giant.
