He is one of the cottagers. He is the father of Agatha and Felix. He is taking care of his children, they are very poor.

She is brought into the Frankenstein family. She was framed of the murder of William Frankenstein by the monster.She confessed to the crime. She was found guilty and executed, but actually she was innocent.

"the hearts of men … are full of brotherly love and charity", and saying that it will "afford [him] true pleasure to be in any way serviceable to a human creature"

He is Victor Frankensteins best friend. He is the opposite of Victor. He is more interested in the arts instead of science.

" I did confess, but I confessed a lie. I confessed, that I might obtain absolution, but now that falsehood lies heavier at my heart than all my other sins"

She is Robert Walton's Sister. This is who he writes the letters to.

" My dear Frankenstein how glad I am to see you! How fortunate that you should be here at the very moment of my alighting! "

He is created by Victor Frankenstein from different body parts. He was brought to life by electricity. He is extremely ugly and scares those who see him. He secludes himself from others and learns by watching a family in the cottage.

He is the professor of natural philosophy. He had a lot of book sense but repulsive manners.

" When I am glowing with the enthusiasm of success, there will be none to participate my joy; if I am assailed by disappointment, no one will endeavour to sustain me in dejection."

- Robert Waltons writes this to Mrs. Saville in Letter II

She is an orphan that was brought into the Frankenstein family. It was assumed that Victor and her would eventually marry, and they did. However on their wedding night the monster killed her.

" When I looked around I saw and heard of none like me. Was I, a monster, a blot upon this earth from which all men fled and whom all men disowned?

He is the young man that lives in the cottage. His father is the blind man and his sister is Agatha. He is sad all the time until Safie (his love interest) comes to see him.

"Every minute," continued M. Krempe with warmth, "every instant that you have wasted on those books is utterly and entirely lost. You have burdened your memory with exploded systems and useless names. Good God! in what desert land have you lived, where no one was kind enough to inform you that these fancies, which you have so greedily imbibed, are a thousand years old, and as musty as they are ancient? I little expected, in this enlightened and scientific age, to find a disciple of Albertus Magnus and Paracelsus. My dear sir, you must begin your studies entirely anew."

She is the young girl that lives in the cottage. Her father is the blind man and her brother is Felix. She does the domestic work and is also sad.

She comes to live at the cottage with the family. She does not read or speak their language. Felix teaches her their language and the monster watches and learns along. She makes everyone happy.

"darted forward, and with supernatural force tore me from his father, to whose knees I clung: in a transport of fury, he dashed me to the ground and struck me violently with a stick"

- This is what he does when he finds the monster in the cottage with his family.

"... And if I see but one smile on your lips when we meet, occasioned by this or any other exertion of of mine, I shall need no other happiness.

He is rescued from the ice by Robert Walton. He is the oldest child in the Frankenstein family. He is extremely interested in natural science and electricity. He eventually becomes obsessed with creating life and creates the monster through conducting his experiments. After creating this creature he is horrified of him and runs away from the monster.

He is Victors youngest brother in the Frankenstein household.

He is Victors father. He married when he was older because of his attention to public business. He is extremely wealthy. He is friends with Beaufort and after his death he married his daughter.

" Seek happiness in tranquility and avoid ambition, even if it be only the apparently innocent one distinguishing yourself in science and discoveries"

He is the character that writes the letters to Mrs. Saville in the beginning of the novel. He is the ship captin that wants to discover a route to the North Pole. During his journey he finds Victor Frankenstein stranded on the ice and decides to rescue him. From that point on he listens to Victor tell the story.

"He is now sixteen, and full of activity and spirit. He is desirous to be a true Swiss, and to enter into foreign service"

- This is a quote from Elizabeth about Ernest.

" Excessive sorrow presents important or enjoyment, or even the discharge of daily usefulness, without such no man is fit for society"

She is Alphonse Frankensteins wife and Victors mother. She is very young and poor.

He is the youngest brother of the Frankenstein family. He is murdered by the monster while out on a walk.

" I am required not only to raise the spirits of others, but sometimes to sustain my own, when theirs are failing"

"my firmest hopes of future happiness were placed on the prospect of your union. This expectation will now be the consolation of your father. "

He is the professor of chemistry. Victor got along great with him. He encouraged Victor in his scientific pursuits and experiments.

"`Hideous monster! Let me go. My papa is a syndic—he is M. Frankenstein—he will punish you. You dare not keep me."

"I am happy," said M. Waldman, "to have gained a disciple; and if your application equals your ability, I have no doubt of your success."
