1.2. Its functions.

The function that performs the concrete is to serve as a binder for the bricks of our homes are well sealed to each other and do not separate. Not only used for houses, also for sidewalks, floor etc.

1.3.How it is made

There is a natural product and is made by mixing different minerals in different proportions. It is a mixture of metal oxides and nonmetallic oxides , mixed silicatosy calcium aluminate which is added small amounts of compounds of magnesium and iron . Also cast is usually added .

Elaborations the cement process is performed in stages and are:

1) First, limestone and clay are mixed in appropriate proportions is ground . This mixture is moistened with water to facilitate homogenization and then dried in rotary kilns can be up to 100 meters long and several meters in diameter rotating at a rate of 1-2 rpm . And homogenized material enters the upper end of the furnace and in the opposite direction , it becomes llegaraire at a temperature of 1400 ° C in the oven and the moisture is removed as sulphates and carbonates as well decompose volatile acids ( dioxido Sulfur , carbon dioxide given ) . Oxides of silicon, aluminum , calcium and iron react chemically . The process inside the oven lasts approximately three hours and the clinker is obtained.

2) the clinker is cooled .

3) grinds , and generally , you add gypsum.

Concrete is easily and readily prepared and fabricated in all sorts of conceivable shapes and structural systems. Its great simplicity lies in the fact that its constituents are ubiquitous and are readily available almost anywhere in the world. As a result of its ubiquity, functionality and flexibility it has become by far the most popular and widely used construction material in the world.
