Mhm.
- 00:01 - 00:04
Hello, my name is Louise and today we'll be doing a book review
- 00:05 - 00:08
on the book card, Demon Heart By Andrew Nance.
- 00:10 - 00:13
We can talk about a brief summary to start things off
- 00:13 - 00:17
wade who was one of the main characters and a few other contenders
- 00:18 - 00:22
um which are the five finalists and to meet him are in this contest
- 00:22 - 00:28
that Mr Ian Tremblant has created and you have to win by telling stories
- 00:29 - 00:34
with candle lights and at his haunted house and you have to survive the night.
- 00:34 - 00:39
Whoever reads the best story will get their book published by Ian trembling.
- 00:41 - 00:45
Um Then we can talk about some of the things I like about the plot and like how
- 00:46 - 00:47
um
- 00:47 - 00:48
I go straight to the point
- 00:50 - 00:53
you should to the point you introduced the characters
- 00:54 - 00:55
you start off
- 00:55 - 00:57
and it starts off engaging
- 00:58 - 01:01
and I like how he um includes in like letters
- 01:01 - 01:05
he wrote on like the newspaper and the newspaper headings
- 01:07 - 01:08
and then
- 01:08 - 01:10
I also enjoyed how
- 01:11 - 01:13
like some of the transitions you have
- 01:13 - 01:16
because because he could really show the emotions
- 01:16 - 01:20
and like the thoughts that the characters are having throughout the night
- 01:20 - 01:24
while reading the stories and then having to blow out the candles
- 01:24 - 01:27
and eventually they're all gone and they have to experience that.
- 01:27 - 01:29
It's I think it's very good,
- 01:30 - 01:34
but that's also a flaw that the book has because you
- 01:34 - 01:38
could I got I personally got a little confused at times,
- 01:38 - 01:39
but it's not that bad.
- 01:40 - 01:40
Thank you.
- 01:41 - 01:43
Then we can talk about some of the characters
- 01:44 - 01:47
um the characters are all right.
- 01:49 - 01:52
They didn't really have too much character development.
- 01:54 - 01:56
Like um like the only thing we really saw
- 01:56 - 02:00
from the characters was them having interactions with each other
- 02:00 - 02:02
and like with Ian trembling
- 02:03 - 02:06
but that was that was more than it.
- 02:08 - 02:09
Ah
- 02:09 - 02:11
I also liked how
- 02:12 - 02:14
how also enjoyed
- 02:14 - 02:15
um
- 02:16 - 02:21
the stories all the kids had. They were very creative, creepy suspenseful.
- 02:21 - 02:23
But one of my favorite ones has to be
- 02:23 - 02:28
the it's called the Babysitter by one of the characters
- 02:28 - 02:29
and
- 02:30 - 02:33
on the character names are cod
- 02:34 - 02:36
chest, Chesley wade
- 02:38 - 02:39
Kara
- 02:40 - 02:44
from the curious and chris and of course we have Ian trembling
- 02:48 - 02:48
then
- 02:49 - 02:56
finally for the addiction or characterization or however I'm the author
- 02:56 - 02:57
put out the book.
- 02:58 - 03:00
Um It's not a hard read.
- 03:00 - 03:05
It was it's a pretty it's not too long but not too short. It's 250 pages.
- 03:06 - 03:12
But I felt like it was really engaging because he liked to include images like
- 03:13 - 03:14
um and some of the stories,
- 03:14 - 03:18
there was like dialogue showing like text messages between some of the characters
- 03:19 - 03:22
or like he included like the letters and I said how
- 03:22 - 03:24
included like the newspaper headings
- 03:26 - 03:26
that
- 03:27 - 03:30
that's just great because I felt like I was able to want to get an
- 03:30 - 03:35
idea of what's happening and I kind of put like that thought into my head
- 03:36 - 03:41
uh like I said he included pictures, which I like in a book.
- 03:41 - 03:44
You can I mean they don't have to be like, like a picture book,
- 03:44 - 03:49
but like by the like at the end of each chapter you include a book,
- 03:49 - 03:51
I'm in a picture that's very great.
- 03:52 - 03:52
Then
- 03:54 - 03:58
lastly lastly the Star Review I give the book is a
- 03:59 - 04:02
3.5 or a four
- 04:03 - 04:04
because I liked the plot.
- 04:05 - 04:07
It was suspenseful and scary. I like how
- 04:08 - 04:13
they all have to read a story and then they had to get on the
- 04:13 - 04:17
um that to blow out the candles which even made it a little more suspenseful.
- 04:18 - 04:21
But like I said it's a little confusing and you can get sidetracked.
- 04:22 - 04:26
Finally the book recommendation
- 04:27 - 04:31
I would give it to people who like suspenseful and scary books
- 04:32 - 04:36
but they don't like the gore because there are some other scary books that do include
- 04:36 - 04:42
gore which are which I like to read but this is just a attain you know,
- 04:42 - 04:43
suspenseful book.
- 04:43 - 04:44
Thank you.
- 04:45 - 04:46
Yeah.
