Today's reading is Michael Recycle.
- 00:12 - 00:14
It's about a small town that doesn't like to recycle.
- 00:15 - 00:18
It's a mess, it smells, there's a lot of pollution
- 00:19 - 00:25
and our superhero, Michael recycle comes in and teaches the
- 00:25 - 00:26
town how to recycle.
- 00:27 - 00:29
So let's take a look.
- 00:32 - 00:33
Michael Recycle.
- 00:34 - 00:39
Written by Ellie baffle and illustrated by Alexandra Colombo.
- 00:47 - 00:51
There once was a town called a burrito Raimi where
- 00:52 - 00:55
garbage was left to grow rotten and slimy.
- 00:56 - 00:57
It never smelled fresh.
- 00:58 - 01:02
The air was all hazy, but the people did nothing.
- 01:02 - 01:12
They got rather lazy and then something happened that none
- 01:13 - 01:13
could explain.
- 01:15 - 01:17
It wasn't a bird and it wasn't a plane.
- 01:18 - 01:22
A green caped crusader soared through the air with the
- 01:22 - 01:25
colon and er hat on top of his hair.
- 01:30 - 01:33
He bounced off the earth with a thump in a
- 01:33 - 01:37
bump and then landed headfirst in the town garbage dump.
- 01:38 - 01:41
He brushed off his suit as he jumped to his
- 01:41 - 01:46
feet and grinned at the townsfolk who had come to
- 01:46 - 01:51
me. I'm Michel recycle and I have a plan, but
- 01:51 - 01:52
I need your help.
- 01:52 - 01:53
Everyone to a man.
- 01:54 - 01:57
The sky in the river are Smelly and Brown.
- 01:58 - 02:02
Soon 50 ft bugs will take over your town.
- 02:08 - 02:09
You've got to recycle.
- 02:10 - 02:14
You've got to act soon before all your trash reaches
- 02:15 - 02:18
up to the moon then crushing a can.
- 02:19 - 02:28
He gave them a wink and vanished from sight before
- 02:29 - 02:29
they could blink.
- 02:31 - 02:33
Miss Moon Koch explained to her friend.
- 02:33 - 02:36
Mr Crew, did you happen to hear what that boy
- 02:37 - 02:37
said to do?
- 02:39 - 02:40
Clean up and recycle?
- 02:40 - 02:42
How hard can it be?
- 02:42 - 02:45
A green and clean town would be lovely to see.
- 02:50 - 02:54
They recycled their paper, they're plastic and cans and even
- 02:54 - 02:57
old junk like used pots and pans.
- 02:58 - 03:00
They also began the big greener campaign.
- 03:02 - 03:06
They grew their own come Clots and saved up the
- 03:06 - 03:13
rain. So proud was the town of their green transformation.
- 03:14 - 03:17
They threw a great party, a grand celebration.
- 03:20 - 03:23
They covered the town in green toilet paper, then rolled
- 03:24 - 03:26
it back up to use again later.
- 03:27 - 03:31
You may think that's yucky, but these folks don't agree.
- 03:32 - 03:35
And Alboreto Raimi recycling is key.
- 03:41 - 03:44
When Michael came back to visit the town, he didn't
- 03:45 - 03:53
despair. Cat angrier frown for everything looked so clean and
- 03:53 - 03:53
brand new.
- 03:54 - 03:57
The sky in the river were again a bright blue
- 03:59 - 04:01
look at our town, it gleams and glitters.
- 04:03 - 04:11
Now nothing wasted and nobody litters to Michael recycle.
- 04:12 - 04:17
The green Caped crusader are super green hero, the planet's
- 04:18 - 04:18
new savior.
- 04:24 - 04:26
But Michael recycle was nowhere around.
- 04:27 - 04:30
He had already moved on to help the next town.
- 04:31 - 04:35
So if you should see a green silhouette streaking the
- 04:35 - 04:40
skies, please don't get upset the noises you hear that
- 04:40 - 04:41
clunk in that funk.
- 04:46 - 04:50
It's just our friend, Michael recycling old junk.

you're brushing your teeth.
- 06:31 - 06:34

You use both sides of a piece of paper before

to do your homework.
- 07:21 - 07:22
Trees please.
- 07:24 - 07:25
Trees are true friends of the earth.
- 07:26 - 07:29
They keep us cool and make oxygen for us to
- 07:29 - 07:33
breathe. Plant a tree in your yard or organize a
- 07:33 - 07:36
plant a tree planting party for your neighborhood or school
- 07:37 - 07:38
at the very least.
- 07:38 - 07:43
Say thank you when you pass the big elmore maple.
- 07:43 - 07:48
Don't worry they won't bark can it?
- 07:49 - 07:52

- 08:09 - 08:12
little rain, a few bugs, Okay, a million of bugs.
- 08:13 - 08:14
Which is the cool part.
- 08:15 - 08:19
In a few months you'll have healthy soil for your
- 08:19 - 08:22
garden. And all those trimmings and clippings won't be taking
- 08:23 - 08:24
up space in the landfill.
- 08:25 - 08:28
You can add eggshells, coffee grounds and fruit and vegetable
- 08:29 - 08:31
peels to your compost pile too.
- 08:33 - 08:46
But no annoying cousins the and thanks for listening.
