Hi everyone, Welcome to my All About Me presentation.
- 00:08 - 00:10
I hope this helps you get to know me a
- 00:10 - 00:11
little bit better.
- 00:13 - 00:16
So starting with my family, I am a daughter, a
- 00:16 - 00:18
sister fiance and dogma.
- 00:19 - 00:23
So here are some pictures of my family starting all
- 00:23 - 00:26
the way at my left is a dog in a
- 00:28 - 00:29
pink dress and her name is Peyton.
- 00:30 - 00:32
She is my dog.
- 00:34 - 00:37
Um She is six years old, she's a rescue and
- 00:38 - 00:41
she only has three legs and some of her favorite
- 00:41 - 00:48
things are dude and sleep and food and taking walks.
- 00:50 - 00:52
The picture in the middle is my dog diner.
- 00:53 - 00:55
He was actually bought as a family dog, but he's
- 00:56 - 00:59
become very attached to me and he follows me everywhere.
- 01:00 - 01:00
He's three years old.
- 01:02 - 01:05
The picture to the right is me and my mom,
- 01:05 - 01:08
my mom, there are very close and then the picture
- 01:09 - 01:11
all the way at the bottom is me on the
- 01:11 - 01:15
far left, my brother and then my fiance, these pictures
- 01:15 - 01:18
were taking during Covid and my brother has some crazy
- 01:18 - 01:19
hair going on.
- 01:19 - 01:22
But these are our matching Hawaiian outfits from Hawaii.
- 01:23 - 01:32
What you learn is my absolute airports going down the
- 01:32 - 01:34
path will go to my philosophy.
- 01:35 - 01:39
This is my teaching philosophy what I believe, um a
- 01:39 - 01:44
teacher does and my goal as a teacher is to
- 01:45 - 01:49
establish this in my classroom and to each student and
- 01:49 - 01:49
iconic contact.
- 01:51 - 01:53
So as a teacher, I decided to reach those students
- 01:54 - 01:58
who feel unreachable to teach all students to understand their
- 01:58 - 02:02
own unique abilities and allow students to value their work.
- 02:03 - 02:08
So I seen in my years of teaching already that
- 02:09 - 02:12
some students really don't feel if they have a place
- 02:12 - 02:12
in this world.
- 02:13 - 02:17
But as a teacher, I believe it's my job to
- 02:17 - 02:21
show them that that is not true at all and
- 02:21 - 02:24
that they do have a purpose here on this earth.
- 02:25 - 02:27
And how can I help them to find that?
- 02:28 - 02:31
And how can I help them find that through teaching,
- 02:32 - 02:36
through teaching them in math and language arts and reading
- 02:37 - 02:39
and and everything that we do in the classroom.
- 02:40 - 02:43
And I believe that that can all we correlated together.
- 02:45 - 02:47
We'll go all the way up here to my favorite
- 02:48 - 02:55
websites. So besides shopping, there are some educational um websites
- 02:55 - 02:55
on here.
- 02:56 - 02:58
I love Ted talks and love listening to Ted talks
- 02:58 - 03:02
about education, but not only about education but about our
- 03:03 - 03:04
world and how we can help others.
- 03:05 - 03:08
And Ted talks are great because there are only so
- 03:08 - 03:13
many minutes and there's so much information in those few
- 03:13 - 03:16
minutes and they keep your attention and it's like 15
- 03:17 - 03:20
minutes or less of wow, how can i incorporate that
- 03:20 - 03:21
into my life?
- 03:22 - 03:23
I love Edward dot com.
- 03:23 - 03:28
So this is a free website for teachers where you
- 03:28 - 03:31
can actually receive uh certificates.
- 03:32 - 03:35
So you visit a webinar, if you can't see it
- 03:35 - 03:37
live, you will get a link sent to you and
- 03:38 - 03:41
then in three hours or less you can get certified
- 03:42 - 03:45
in something I over the summer did one on reading
- 03:46 - 03:48
on how to keep your child engaged in reading through,
- 03:49 - 03:49
go bed.
- 03:50 - 03:52
And it was really interesting and they had three different
- 03:52 - 03:58
people um speak on the webinar and each one was
- 03:58 - 04:03
certified in something different within the range of reading.
- 04:04 - 04:07
And it was really interesting to see how all their
- 04:07 - 04:08
different perspectives were pulled together.
- 04:08 - 04:10
And then at the end you take a quiz and
- 04:10 - 04:13
then you're certified and it's really great tool if you
- 04:13 - 04:16
want to keep up to date on specific education things,
- 04:16 - 04:19
but you don't have a lot of time, you're busy
- 04:20 - 04:22
but you can carve out a few hours to receive
- 04:23 - 04:23
different certificates.
- 04:24 - 04:25
It's also great when you're listening.
- 04:26 - 04:27
I love going on Pinterest.
- 04:27 - 04:30
I love looking at new ideas.
- 04:30 - 04:31
I just got a house.
- 04:31 - 04:34
So I love looking at new things from my house
- 04:35 - 04:36
and how to decorate.
- 04:36 - 04:40
And I think target is one of my absolute favorite
- 04:40 - 04:41
places in the world.
- 04:41 - 04:42
I love going to target.
- 04:43 - 04:45
Not only do they have the cheapest price of cereal,
- 04:46 - 04:49
but they have amazing home decor things.
- 04:49 - 04:52
Picture frames everything you name it, targets got it.
- 04:53 - 04:56
They even are starting to get a lot of cricket
- 04:57 - 04:59
supplies, which is great because I have a cricket cutter
- 04:59 - 05:01
and last but not least.
- 05:02 - 05:05
Amazon dot com can't find it at target.
- 05:05 - 05:08
You can find it on amazon and I love shopping
- 05:09 - 05:11
on amazon as well.
- 05:13 - 05:15
We'll go down here to my teaching goals.
- 05:18 - 05:24
So my teaching goals are, we'll start at the right
- 05:24 - 05:27
hand corner, received my bachelor's degree from Wilmington University.
- 05:28 - 05:33
So that's definitely um, my high on my list as
- 05:33 - 05:37
I am achieving that now And hope to be done
- 05:38 - 05:39
in the fall of 2023.
- 05:42 - 05:45
I would love to become a behavior specialist.
- 05:46 - 05:51
Um, I definitely love working with students one on 1
- 05:51 - 05:55
and aspects of learning about how students cope with different
- 05:56 - 05:57
things that come into their life.
- 05:58 - 06:00
And I just, I don't know, I've always had a
- 06:01 - 06:03
passion for like the hard kids, I guess you could
- 06:03 - 06:09
say. And then after that I would continue on my
- 06:10 - 06:11
education for my master's degree.
- 06:12 - 06:14
And so the behavior specialists in the master's degree kind
- 06:15 - 06:17
of go hand in hand because we wanted to become
- 06:17 - 06:17
the behavior specialist.
- 06:19 - 06:23
Um, it will better um, be better to get my
- 06:23 - 06:24
masters degree in that.
- 06:24 - 06:27
So I would have my associates degree in elementary education.
- 06:28 - 06:31
Then I would have my bachelor's degree followed up in
- 06:31 - 06:33
elementary education and then I would have a fat excuse
- 06:34 - 06:38
me, a master's degree in behavior specialists or behavior management
- 06:39 - 06:40
one of the other.
- 06:40 - 06:44
And that's just something that has always kind of been
- 06:45 - 06:45
on my heart.
- 06:46 - 06:54
And I just really like, like all those things, okay
- 06:55 - 06:57
Vacations is the next one.
- 06:58 - 07:00
So I enjoy traveling with my family.
- 07:01 - 07:07
We well used to go on a vacation every summer.
- 07:08 - 07:10
My mom's a Disney vacation club members.
- 07:10 - 07:12
So we used to go to Disney World all the
- 07:13 - 07:16
time, which I love Disney world no matter how would
- 07:16 - 07:16
you get?
- 07:17 - 07:19
I think you could always love Disney world, but I
- 07:19 - 07:20
do understand it's not for everyone.
- 07:21 - 07:27
So uh Right before COVID in 2019 we went to
- 07:27 - 07:31
Hawaii for the third time and I think I could
- 07:31 - 07:33
go to Hawaii every single year.
- 07:34 - 07:35
It's absolutely amazing.
- 07:36 - 07:38
Um, there's just something about it.
- 07:39 - 07:39
It's beautiful.
- 07:40 - 07:43
It takes your breath away, the palm trees, the air,
- 07:44 - 07:44
it's amazing.
- 07:44 - 07:48
Your hair doesn't phrase because it's not humid, but it's
- 07:48 - 07:50
like, but it's hot, but it's just amazing.
- 07:51 - 07:56
So I have been to Disney World, I've been to
- 07:56 - 07:58
California and I visited Disneyworld.
- 07:59 - 08:01
We'll say California was really cool to was able to
- 08:02 - 08:06
good of Beverly hills and shop on rodeo drive, which
- 08:06 - 08:07
was really cool.
- 08:08 - 08:10
And I've been to north Carolina.
- 08:11 - 08:15
I normally go there with my dad um every summer
- 08:16 - 08:20
and we go to a place called topsail beach, which
- 08:20 - 08:21
is fun and relaxing.
- 08:21 - 08:23
I've been to Alaska, which was really cool.
- 08:24 - 08:26
That was one of the last vacations I did with
- 08:26 - 08:29
my nana before she got sick.
- 08:29 - 08:30
So that was really cool.
- 08:31 - 08:37
Really interesting, seeing glaciers fall into the ocean and just
- 08:37 - 08:40
to like you right there because the boat pulls up
- 08:40 - 08:42
right alongside of it or the ship, I should say.
- 08:44 - 08:47
And then we got to experience um going and visiting
- 08:48 - 08:49
actual sled dogs.
- 08:50 - 08:51
So that was really cool too.
- 08:52 - 08:55
And then of course Hawaii and the picture at the
- 08:55 - 08:56
top is me and my mom in hawaii.
- 08:58 - 08:59
And that's actually at the Disney resort.
- 09:00 - 09:00
It's called biryani.
- 09:01 - 09:02
It's beautiful there.
- 09:04 - 09:07
And then the picture in the middle is of Waikiki
- 09:07 - 09:09
that was on a catamaran ride.
- 09:09 - 09:10
Which is really cool.
- 09:11 - 09:13
So it's basically a boat that has like a mesh
- 09:13 - 09:17
bottom and they just play really fun island music.
- 09:18 - 09:20
And you get to a sunset boat ride.
- 09:21 - 09:22
So it's about an hour, an hour and a half
- 09:23 - 09:25
and you just sail around um keith.
- 09:26 - 09:29
And then the bottom picture of course is me and
- 09:29 - 09:30
my mom with Tinkerbell.
- 09:30 - 09:33
Obviously you can tell my mom and I travel a
- 09:33 - 09:36
lot together when we go to these different places.
- 09:39 - 09:41
Last but not least are my teaching credentials.
- 09:42 - 09:46
So as I mentioned before, I have my associates degree
- 09:46 - 09:50
in elementary education from the Wilmington campus at caltech.
- 09:52 - 09:57
And I am now currently at Wilmington University for my
- 09:57 - 10:02
degree, my bachelor's degree in elementary education and then again
- 10:02 - 10:06
hoping to go on for my masters degree to study
- 10:06 - 10:07
behavioral science.
- 10:09 - 10:11
So thank you so much for tuning in.
- 10:12 - 10:14
I hope this, How did you get to know a
- 10:14 - 10:15
little bit more about me?
- 10:16 - 10:18
And thank you and have a great night
