Hello everyone and welcome to the I educate partner teacher
- 00:04 - 00:05
prep for the summer semester.
- 00:07 - 00:09
We're so happy to have you guys here and we
- 00:09 - 00:10
hope to see you guys again in the fall for
- 00:11 - 00:13
the 2021, school year.
- 00:13 - 00:15
So my name is Amanda Mahatir.
- 00:16 - 00:19
I was a crm not too long ago turned teacher
- 00:19 - 00:23
and now I am a member of the court team
- 00:23 - 00:23
that I educate.
- 00:24 - 00:27
I am so so grateful to educate for creating the
- 00:27 - 00:29
Foundation for me to discover something that I love to
- 00:29 - 00:32
do. And it was because a partner, teachers like you
- 00:32 - 00:35
when I like us that helped create that framework and
- 00:35 - 00:38
a great foundation um to help me get started on
- 00:38 - 00:39
my journey as an educator.
- 00:40 - 00:42
All right, so what is a crm?
- 00:43 - 00:46
So, Crm are dynamic individuals who take initiative within the
- 00:46 - 00:50
classroom um to create a collaborative effort between themselves and
- 00:50 - 00:55
youth and they not only support the student academically, but
- 00:55 - 00:58
also socially crm are meant to be mentors are meant
- 00:59 - 01:00
to be role models within the classroom.
- 01:01 - 01:04
There's so many students who are not even thinking about
- 01:04 - 01:07
college, they come from different backgrounds, they haven't even seen
- 01:07 - 01:10
anyone who may have graduated from college within their and
- 01:10 - 01:10
immediate family.
- 01:11 - 01:13
And so they have these students come in that look
- 01:13 - 01:15
like them from different backgrounds and can speak to them
- 01:16 - 01:19
really has a measurable impact.
- 01:20 - 01:22
And so that is a syria.
- 01:24 - 01:26
So how can they be using your classroom?
- 01:27 - 01:28
Well, C.
- 01:28 - 01:29
R. M.
- 01:29 - 01:33
S are actually trained through the I educate academy, I
- 01:33 - 01:36
educate academy prepares them to be able to conduct their
- 01:36 - 01:38
own small groups to help you guys.
- 01:38 - 01:40
I only doing whole group instructions or monitoring and adjusting
- 01:41 - 01:44
with you, helping us to differentiate and then also assisting
- 01:45 - 01:46
you with pulling small group.
- 01:46 - 01:48
So those are your masters, your meats and your approaches
- 01:49 - 01:51
students. How often are we in class and we just
- 01:51 - 01:53
do not have enough time in a day.
- 01:54 - 01:55
You know, where you were supposed to pull two or
- 01:55 - 01:57
three small groups and then time gets away from us
- 01:57 - 01:59
or something else is thrown into our schedule.
- 01:59 - 02:02
But to have a Crm helps to assist with classroom
- 02:03 - 02:06
management with our routine, to help make us more efficient
- 02:07 - 02:11
and effective throughout our day requirements of a partner teacher.
- 02:11 - 02:15
Okay, well here we go, you guys have three meetings
- 02:15 - 02:16
that you're required to have.
- 02:16 - 02:17
Don't worry.
- 02:17 - 02:20
That's your first meeting, the foundational meeting, where it takes
- 02:20 - 02:22
about 10 to 15 minutes to help you get to
- 02:22 - 02:26
know your crm and set expectations for how you, you
- 02:26 - 02:28
know, like things to be run within your classroom, helping
- 02:29 - 02:32
them to take initiative for some things that you want
- 02:32 - 02:32
them to take initiative for.
- 02:33 - 02:34
And it's okay if it takes some time to build
- 02:34 - 02:36
that trust, you guys are getting to know each other
- 02:36 - 02:40
and hopefully grow with each other throughout the school year.
- 02:41 - 02:43
Also, you're required to have a weekly kind of debriefing.
- 02:44 - 02:47
We're sharing lesson plans were showing small group plans to
- 02:47 - 02:48
make sure that both of you guys are aligned.
- 02:49 - 02:51
Um like I said before, it's a very collaborative effort
- 02:52 - 02:54
and then also there's a daily debriefing.
- 02:54 - 02:57
Um sometimes that could just be an email or just
- 02:57 - 02:59
sharing different notes that you guys were able to take
- 03:00 - 03:03
during. Small groups are just kind of decompressing throughout the
- 03:03 - 03:05
day and checking to make sure that you guys are
- 03:05 - 03:08
on the same page, moving forward with different kind of
- 03:08 - 03:10
updates. All right.
- 03:10 - 03:13
So does that mean extra work for, you know, it
- 03:13 - 03:14
does not mean extra work for you.
- 03:14 - 03:18
The only thing that we acquire require require outside of
- 03:19 - 03:22
our three meetings is just having that feedback.
- 03:23 - 03:26
So that way the crm has those cultural moments.
- 03:27 - 03:29
So those teachable moments to make sure that there is
- 03:29 - 03:30
best that they can be.
- 03:30 - 03:32
We definitely train them to be open to feedback in
- 03:32 - 03:33
order to help grow their craft.
- 03:34 - 03:39
Um Also, you're required to um give us feedback through
- 03:39 - 03:42
bi weekly or monthly surveys just to let us know
- 03:42 - 03:43
that everything is okay.
- 03:43 - 03:44
Let us know if he has any questions or concerns.
- 03:45 - 03:47
We really want to make sure that this works in
- 03:47 - 03:48
your classroom.
- 03:48 - 03:50
And if there's something that doesn't work, how can we
- 03:50 - 03:50
fix it?
- 03:51 - 03:52
How can we work together in order to make sure
- 03:53 - 03:56
that this is an effective um collaboration for the both
- 03:57 - 03:57
of you?
- 03:58 - 04:00
So, COVID-19 protocols.
- 04:01 - 04:03
We know that there are some mask mandates that are
- 04:03 - 04:04
changing that are being lifted.
- 04:05 - 04:07
And so we're gonna wait to hear from back from
- 04:08 - 04:10
your respective districts just to make sure that I educated
- 04:11 - 04:14
in a line with what your district requires of you.
- 04:14 - 04:16
So we want to make sure that our I educate
- 04:17 - 04:18
crm s are being protected.
- 04:19 - 04:20
Our students are being protected and you are being protected
- 04:21 - 04:21
as partner teachers.
- 04:23 - 04:23
All right.
- 04:23 - 04:26
