The Elizabethan Language
- During the Elizabethan Era, there were a lot of words that were different from now. There were many words that were used in the Elizabethan language that are no longer in use, there were other words that have replaced them or the words are no longer required.
- The Elizabethan alphabet contained of 24 letters, where today there are 26 letters. The two letters that were missing is "u" and "v" because they were the same letter as "i" and "j".
- The numbers during the Elizabethan language was similar to their alphabets so it is confusing
- The number of words used in the Elizabethan Language were developing, where their vocabulary is also expanding. the vocabulary during that era was less than 500, which there where already 7,500 words that is in the modern day English.
- William Shakespeare, a writer, had invented many of the words that he used in his plays. He had been contributed more new words to English than any other person, which is about 2,000 words. Some of the examples are: Addiction, Blushing, Champion, Countless, Torture and Worthless

During the Elizabethan Era, they have more difficult English. The English they use is more complex and harder to understand because they uses more expressions and metaphors. They also like to use poem. They also use words like most instead of very for example: You are most brave. You are most popular. You are most welcome. It is also most important. Their language is harder to understand because they uses a wider range of words and more indirect meanings. Only highly educated people can read and write welly.
The Elizabethan Era (1558-1603)
Shakespeare is one on the important people of the Elizabethan Literature. Theaters were illegal in London so Shakespeare build his theater "THE GLOBE" in southwark. People who wants to watch his plays must come over. To tell the people from the other side what play there is, they use flags. White for comedy. Red for History and Black for tragedy. The Globe is a round shape theater which is not roofed. It uses natural light but the audiences have shaded seating except for the poor ones which cannot afford a seat but wants to watch the show. They would have to stand in front of the stage. Female are also not allowed on stage so female characters are male dressed up as female.
The Elizabethan Era is one of the most fascinating periods in the History of England. The Elizabethan Era is named after the greatest Queens of England - Queen Elizabeth I. The Elizabethan Era is not only famous for the Queen but also for the era itself
